Political parties

There are regional departments of practically all the political parties registered in the Ministry of Justice of the Russian federation in the Murmansk region.

Social and liberal (conservative centrists) party (right centre). It combines moderate refora and liberal conservative vies with propaganda of political and social stability. Priority of state and national interests of Russia is one of the first places. Regulation of party presupposes strong party discipline.

Chairman of the regional department is the deputy of State Duma Valdimir Zhuravlev, his first deputy is Vladimir Budakovsky. The leader of executive committee is Sergey Kontievsky.

The network of local organisations is created (total 19). There are 1187 members of the party and their number grows constantly. On the 26.06.02 in the regional Duma was registered fraction Edinaya Rossia. Four deputies jointed it: Alexander Krupaderov, Konstantin Popov, Yury Prutkov and Victor Aleshin.

The largest unification on the left side of political arena of the region. Is has hard position concerning the present executive power of Russia. It is headed in the Murmansk region by the former deputy of the regional Duma Michail Antropov.

Party organisations are in all the districts of the region, except closed towns Ostrovnoy and Polyarny. The number of members is about 550 persons in the Murmansk region. 113 persons are in Murmansk (the leader is Igor Kaloshin), the majority of members are pensioners. In the region prevails orthodox communistic direction of the party. The party has a newspaper "Kolsky Mayak".

Ìurmansk regional department of political party "Russian democratic party "Yabloko" (reg. ¹ 1237 13.04.99, transformed. 18.06.02).. "Yabloko" is typical radical liberal union (right), but claimed itself as social and liberal party. Stands for limitation of state intervention to economy market principals of economy, individual economical and political freedom. The leaders in Murmansk are former deputy of the regional Duma Igor Lebedev, deputy of Murmansk City Council Irina Paikacheva and leader of Snezhnogorsk organisation Felix Iovel. Number of members is 128. Branches are in 7 municipalities.

Ìurmansk regional department of political party "Right forces union " (reg. ¹ 1585 11.10.00, transformed. 15.05.02).
"RFU" belongs to radical liberal unions (right), it has typical program. The peculiarity is adherence to radical methods of reforming of the system of state. The chairman in the region is the deputy of chairman of the regional Duma, chairman of committee on economical policy and national economy Saigin V.V. Number of members is 100.

Ìurmansk regional department of political party Liberal democratic party of Russia- (reg. ¹ 912 09.07.98, transformed. 08.05.02).. LDPR is a national patriotic party. It is party of the leader type (Zhirinovsky). It has party infrastructure. There are18 branches in the region. Head quarters are in Pegenga nad Monchegorsk districts, in Murmansk, Severomorsk, Monchegorsk, Apatity. It has youth organisation "Rossomakha". The leader in the region is Alexander Vikhorev.

Number of members is about 200. The party has a newspaper "Gubernskaya", circulation - 10000 items.

National party of the Russian Federation (NPRF) transformed from parliament movement "National Deputy" (Raykov G.I.). At present regional department of the party is headed by Vladimir Shiganov, it includes also deputies of the regional Duma. The first task of the party if the creation of party structure and increasing its members. There are branches in Murmansk, Severomorsk, Apatity, Kirovsk.. Number of members is about 250.

It was organised as a result of joining of Social party of Russia (Ribkin) and " Spirit heritage" (Podberezkin). The leader is Tamara Kononenko. Number of members is 100 persons.
