Old pine

Our forest the most northern forests of Eurasia. The square of the forest resource makes 9470,3 thousand hectare (65,3% of the total square of the Murmansk region). The forests of the first group are protective tundra, water protective and along the spawning rivers, industrial felling of which is forbidden, make 63% of the forest fund. Forests are presented by thin fir-wood and pine-forest with a touch of birches. Excessive exploitation of forest resources lead to rejuvenation of forest with simultaneous change of sort structure, and also to the reducing of biosphere function of the forest cover and biological variety. Primary forests, which were not influenced by anthropogenic impact, at present, take about a half of forest covered square.
